Winter Quarter 2009, Municipal Archives of the City of Seattle
Seattle City Hall
The Seattle Municipal Archives exists to keep public records generated by the city and
to make them available to any interested parties. The archives focuses particularly
on records of the Seattle City Council, but also keeps records of city agencies,
mayors, etc. and has a large collection of maps and photographs pertaining to the city.
The Municipal Archives is located in the new city hall building in downtown Seattle.
My Directed Fieldwork took place from January 7th to March 12th, 2009. For a listing of my goals for the quarter
and how I planned to achieve them, check out the Learning Objectives. For a record of my tasks for each day,
take a look at the Daily Narrative. For more information about the items I worked with and the things I created,
see the Artifacts.
