I bought a book last night that I’m kind of excited about. I bought it at about half-past midnight, actually. And I stood in a line with a bunch of other people, many of whom were small children (but many weren’t so small) to get it. I’m talking, of course, about Harry Potter #7. I haven’t opened it yet (other than to put my name in), but I fully intend to begin reading as soon as I can.

The Mariners have been pretty exciting recently. They’ve stayed over .500 (no small feat considering their recent history), re-signed the most exciting player in baseball (that is to say, Ichiro!), and had a run of clutch pitching and hitting. We did all the incredibly tourist-y things; rode the Cable Cars, walked through Chinatown, ate seafood at Fisherman’s Wharf and ice cream sundaes at Ghirardelli Square (yes, that is spelled correctly), visited Golden Gate Park and Cliff House, drove over the Golden Gate Bridge and took a tour of Alcatraz. The last was way cool.

On Sunday, I went with Alisha to see the newest Harry Potter movie, “Order of the Phoenix.” Overall impression: it had some good bits and some bad bits. I’m glad I went to see it, but it wasn’t life-changing. Read more…

We were gone on vacation for a week, but now we’ve come back (and just in time to find that my last post didn’t actually post when I wanted it to. It has now been fixed)
So that’s the reason for our silence, but rest assured we’ll have plenty to talk about in the next few days.
