Mt. Rainier is tricky:  sometimes it is breathtakingly visible, and other times it hides behind clouds. Some days, it does both at different times, and some days part of it hides and part is visible. Like the day we took this picture:

From Day Out

Even when it’s only partly visible, Mt. Rainier is still an awesome sight.

Photo of the Week: Komodo Dragon

I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of a Komodo Dragon. It’s a DRAGON! What’s not to like? Especially since it’s not the type that is the huge, dangerous fire-breathing type. My rating: 3 of 5 stars

When I read the back cover of book one (Uglies), I became even more interested, and for the most part, Uglies did not disappoint.

When Shay disappears, Tally finds herself in a very uncomfortable position and at the beginning of an even bigger mystery than she ever imagined. Read more…

I need more soccer.

I miss the Sounders. Now that the Seahawks are finished, and the Mariners have gone quiet until Spring Training, all I have to follow is Arsenal. Don’t get me wrong, I love supporting the Gunners, but they are far away in London and haven’t played much recently, with all the snow in the UK. Also, whenever I watch Arsenal, there’s a part of my mind that thinks “this is great, but it would be so much better if it were my local side!” So, I miss the Sounders. And the possibility that they won’t play this next season has me worried.
