Photo of the Week: The Ambassador Bridge

This bridge connects two countries:

From Detroit, Michigan

You may have noticed that we enjoy photographing bridges (For more evidence, click here, here, here or here). It’s not something that we plan on doing when we go places – not like how we try to get our photo taken at each baseball stadium we visit - it just kind of happens that bridges show up in our collection of photos once we get home. They are usually pretty striking, whether big like the Ambassador Bridge or smaller like the Montlake Bridge in Seattle.

This particular bridge is special because, like it says above, it connects the United States with Canada. We didn’t drive across the Ambassador Bridge when we were in Detroit, but we did drive past all the signs that pointed to the bridge which crosses an international border. It was very interesting, especially since our border crossing in Washington state doesn’t have a body of water to help distinguish one side from the other.

We won’t stop taking pictures of interesting bridges, so keep watching this space for more.
