Griffith Observatory and the moon:

From Los Angeles, California

Griffith Park in Los Angeles is home to the famous Griffith Observatory. Both were named for Colonel Griffith J. Griffith (yes, really) and the Observatory was built in 1935. Because of the light pollution from neighboring LA, it’s tough to see much from the old telescopes, but our visit at dusk gave us a nice view of the moon.
