From Charleston, South Carolina

Bridges are neat. This one was especially neat. This picture was actually taken from the complex at Patriots Point, including the USS Yorktown and the Medal of Honor Museum among other things. We were here, though, for the ferry out to Fort Sumter. I particularly like the contrast of the greenery in the foreground with the bright blue sky above, and fairly new white bridge in the middle.

The Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge is the longest cable-stayed bridge in the Western Hemisphere at 1,546 feet. It was completed in 2005, and it still looks very new.

In trying to find additional interesting information, I came across quite a lot of pictures on this site. I was particularly fascinated to see the new bridge alongside the old bridges.
